With our cherry camping spot overlooking Manic 5, not only did we get a great view, but the gravel begins at the base of Manic 5. And after two days of slabbing, we have found our beloved gravel! Now writing this from Happy valley, I realize how somewhat torturous RT 389 was. Maybe having 3 full days of gravel has taught a few lessons on gravel, but I still suspect that might be most unpredictable part of the gravel. It was the hardest to read the gravel conditions, and was mostly described as pebbles on concrete. Nonetheless, we made Churchill Falls will no bike "sleeping" events.
Dorito was up spritely early--like a kid on Christmas morning!
Before sunrise

Sun rise at manic 5

Time to go..

This shows some of the perspective of the massiveness of the Manic 5 features, standing at the base

This encompasses what this trip is all about....

The money shot

Wooden deck bridges

More hydro electric

Lots and lots of water up here

And lots of these scrubby bushes

Rest stop in Gannon, which is an odd little place. It has about 50KMs of tarmac, and some cross streets but not a single permanent structure left.

Yes, even the energizer bunny Dorito is feeling a bit tired

Hard to see, but a lot of the vehicles we pass had these flags on them. And I have to say, there are effective as that was all I saw on one blind hill

And finally into Labrador!

Between Lab city and Churchill falls, about 1/2 is now tarmac. They also had at least 3-5 active constructions zones. Not long I imagine before this is completely paved between the two cities.

There's the thumb's up!
