Day 7: Cartwright to Blanc Sablon

11/30/2014

Comments

I believe that Cartwright may be the northernmost point on our journey to date. It also marks the turning point to home. Cartwright was a nice ride, however, the town itself (population of 700+) is a bit depressed. Other than one motel, one resturant, I am not sure if there is much else to do.

What I assumed to be salmon farming?

Stopped in Port Hope Simpson for bike and human fuel...
Scallops are the house speciality at the Alexis hotel (and they were DELICIOUS!)

Woodland Carbiou facts placemat

I wonder if we can trade a white F800 (good condition only dropped occassionally!) for this:

Turns out this rock is symbol is ancient times for human (and it appears to be everywhere around here...)

Gettin Artsy..

TLH meanders the coastline about 60KMs out of Blanc Sablon

Scenery changed to more rock. They actually quarry the rock for the road from these sites. While it does leave the land somewhat scarred, they sure don't have to hual it far.

And this nice ravine

With a waterfall

Bridges are usually metal mesh or wooden decked:
