Take breaks as necessary; you are covering a lot of miles.
The combination of helmet and goggles has worked well for me.
Communications gear has helped to warn the other riders of the dangers or sights ahead, whether that’s oncoming vehicles, deep gravel, pot holes, a better line, nice views, or simply informing everyone you are stopping.
I know it’s not necessary but everyone who has had one on the trip has commented on how the steering stabilizer has saved their bacon on several occasions. It no shit works but then again not necessary for the trip.
The combination of TKC on front and Heidenau on the rear has worked well so far but after over 2100 miles on them with many of those on sharp rocks they are showing wear/battle scars.
SIDI Adventure boots are working well but with all the miles standing on the pegs I wish I had something with a stiffer shank…but then again they probably wouldn’t be as comfy for walking. This is Adventure riding and not hiking though…
Dana’s motocross boots have worked out well and provide an extra level of protection, probably not very good for walking but oh well.
If you want a hotel room plan ahead even if it’s only a few days.
F650/F800 folks remove the rubber gas neck insert under the gas cap, it has allowed Anoop to go 240 miles today without a fill up!!
If you want pictures, mount your camera where you can get to it while riding.
My battery operated tire pressure gauge took a dump…if it has batteries it will fail you when you need it most. I forgot my regular pressure gauge in my other bike; obviously I need to buy things in pairs.
